Power: the ability to do something or act in a particular way, especially as a faculty or quality

As a Christian, you have the authority to change the atmosphere in any room that you may enter. You also have the authority to denounce things or people that may come against you. However, sometimes that authority is not taken as seriously as it should, which in turn allows the enemy to enter the spirits and minds of Christians. The authority that God has given is to be used by Christians daily. Ephesians 6:10-12 1 "0 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. "

There are so many principalities and wickedness that come against us daily that sometimes we may not even realize it. The enemy is cunning and deceiving, using people that we would least expect to go up against us. Using the scripture as daily bread is important because it heightens your discernment of things and people around you. When fighting in the spirit, you must be bold about the power of God by using what he says to cast it down in the name of Jesus! God did not give us a spirit of fear; he wants us to be bold. 2 Timothy 1:7  "7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."

We have power in our tongue that could be used for good or evil. Words of love, kindness, truth, and prosperity should be on the tongues of believers of Christ. Use your tongue to denounce anything that is not of God in the presence of the enemy. Use your tongue to rebuke the words of the enemy. Use your tongue to speak healing over the sick. Use your tongue to quote a scripture to someone in need. Use your tongue to speak life into a dead soul. Use your tongue to declare and decree what the truth is!

Proverbs 18:21 "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits."

Ephesians 4:29 "Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear."

Proverbs 15:28 "The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things."

Be bold in who you are in Christ and use the power that was given to you through Christ to speak the things of righteousness to yourself and others. Do not be afraid to use your authority because the Lord is not scared to fight for you. Nothing or no one can come against the truth of the Lord, so take comfort in knowing this. Walk in the world with the knowledge of your power and use it with the right heart.
